Express Entry
Canada Express Entry is a system used by the Canadian government to manage applications for immigration to Canada. It was introduced in 2015 and is used to manage applications for three federal immigration programs:
-
The Federal Skilled Worker Program
-
The Federal Skilled Trades Program
-
The Canadian Experience Class
To participate in Express Entry, candidates must create an online profile and answer to a number of questions. Based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language ability, job offer, provincial nominee and other factors, the applicant will receive a score known as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Periodically, Immigration Canada will invite the highest-scoring candidates to apply for permanent residency.
Express Entry is designed to be a fast and efficient way for skilled workers to immigrate to Canada. It aims to process applications in six months or less and is seen as a way for Canada to attract highly skilled workers who can contribute to the Canadian economy and who can integrate easily into the Canadian society.
